Jim Krieger answers questions in the cab at O'Hare Air Traffic Control Tower

About Worldwide Aviation Solutions LLC

Worldwide Aviation Solutions LLC was created in 2015 in response to increasing demand for air traffic control operational and airport construction safety expertise.  Jim Krieger founded Worldwide Aviation Solutions LLC after a successful and diverse career in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Mr. Krieger has over 33 years of experience with the FAA, mostly in the Chicago area, working primarily at O’Hare Tower as an air traffic controller, Area Supervisor, Area Manager, Staff Manager, Support Manager for Quality Assurance and at Chicago Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) as the Assistant Air Traffic Manager from 2003 until 2008.  Mr. Krieger finished his FAA career as the Air Traffic Manager at O'Hare Tower.

Jim has FAA Headquarters experience too.  In 2010, Mr. Krieger was named the Chairman of the Airport Construction Advisory Council (ACAC), a panel of air traffic safety experts that was tasked with ensuring safety during airport construction projects. The ACAC developed number of unique safety enhancements under his guidance which have been adopted in the United States and in other countries as well.

“It has been my good fortune to work with this group of motivated professionals who have produced many great initiatives in a relatively short period of time.”  Examples include the development and implementation of new controller phraseology, the creation of graphic construction NOTAMs for pilots and controllers, and the ACAC has championed the creation of new airport construction signage and markings which will be tested at several airports this summer.  The ACAC has also influenced airport construction safety on a global basis by working closely with ICAO and EUROCONTROL.  “The ACAC is effective because it draws on the experiences and passions of a diverse group of aviation professionals including pilots, controllers, airport operators, dispatchers, and representatives of numerous FAA offices. I can explain their success in one word and that word is “collaboration”. Without it, I am certain that our products would have been comparatively inferior.” -  Jim Krieger speaking in 2013 about his experiences as the Chairman of the FAA's ACAC

He was also the Group Manager for FAA Runway Safety (2013-2014) and viewed that as a tremendous opportunity to influence much needed positive change nationwide and to move Runway Safety to the next level.  Mr. Krieger worked closely with pilot groups like the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) to develop an enhanced online Runway Safety course for pilots, controllers and airport vehicle operators.  He also collaborated with John and Martha King to update their online King Schools Runway Safety course.

Mr. Krieger retired from the FAA in July 2015 as the Air Traffic Manager of O'Hare Tower and intends to continue to pursue his passion for airport construction safety and air traffic control in his new role as the president of Worldwide Aviation Solutions LLC.

He is married and lives in a suburb of Chicago near his four children. He is also an avid instrument-rated pilot, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Studies from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
